Conservation engineers Sam Rogers and Edwin Towler teamed up with Whale Wise to tackle a pressing challenge: measuring humpback whales to assess the long-term impacts of fishing gear entanglement. Using drones paired with LiDAR technology, they developed a new tool that simplifies whale measurements, enhances data collection, and aids conservation research.
